Abstract (EN)
Old Turkish is a period during which we follow the development of the Turkish language through texts. Many researchers divide Old Turkish into three dialects. These periods are the Göktürk, Old Uyghur, and Karakhanid Turkish periods. Old Turkish is the main source of today's Turkic dialects. Traces of Old Turkish have survived in many Turkic dialects to the present day. Traces of Old Turkish can also be found in Kirkuk Turkmen Turkish. In today's Kirkuk Turkmen Turkish, some words that also existed in the Old Turkish lexicon are still in use, albeit with certain phonological differences. In some cases, various semantic changes in these words have also occurred. In our study, words shared between Old Turkish and Kirkuk Turkmen Turkish have been identified. The identified words have been analyzed in terms of semantics and phonology.
