Water concept field in old Turkish

The Turkish language is a developed that has been a written language for a long time. This language extended toTurkey and its neighbors in the southwest, into China in the southeast, and in the northeast up through Southern and Northern Siberia, to the Arctic Ocean, and finally to Western Siberia and Eastern Europe, reaching northwestward. The fact that Turkish is an ancient language and it has been used and is being used in large geographies is reflected in the vocabulary of this rich language accumulation. Vocabulary studies have been carried out on the Turkish language in different periods and subjects. In the study, the concept area and vocabulary of the word water in Turkish vocabulary are discussed. The thesis basically consist of three stages. In the first stage, it has been tried to determine the words that fall into the concept of water, based on the inscriotions and works written from the Göktürk Turkish period to the Karahanlı Turkish. The words in subject area, obtained from inscriptions and works by scanning method, undervarious subheading. In the second stage, after the opinions of researchers with different opinions about the etymologies of the scanned words were given, the equivalents of the expressions in Turkish dialect were shown and th examples in the works were prensented in chronological order according to their usage of structure. In the third stage, the detected words were shown over their usage rates and evaluations were made. This method and its stage were applied to the words determined in the Turkish vocabulary related to the subject. It is hoped that the thesis will contribute to the science of Turkishness in the terms of both language and culture by determining the words that make up the concept of water in the Turkish language.
