Özet (EN)

Writing, one of humanity's greatest inventions, is, in its most basic form, the expression of spoken language through specific signs and symbols. Undoubtedly, every nation, at some point in its history, has encountered writing or has invented, used, and developed its own written language. It is certain that this process will continue to evolve as long as humanity exists. For the Turks, who have had a written language and a rich vocabulary for nearly fifteen hundred years, questions regarding when they first encountered writing, how they invented the oldest known Turkish alphabet, the Runic alphabet, what tools they used for writing, how they obtained these tools, and the changes and developments that took place over centuries are of great importance in Turkish history and linguistics. In this study, the concepts related to "writing" used by the Turks, verbs, tools and materials for writing, stamps, and other related concepts within the context of the Old Turkish period were examined by reviewing the identified sources. Words belonging to the concept field of "writing" were identified, classified, and analyzed. Keywords: Old Turkic, Concept, Concept Field, Writing.
