Comparative analysis of the plant assets in old turkic with historical and contemporary turkic languages

Özet (EN)

Plants are a living species with a history that is contemporaneous with human history. Versatile studies have been carried out on this living species by various disciplines. It continues to be done. This study we are dealing with belongs to the field of Turkish language. The research is based on the use of plant names in historical texts, meaning relation, continuity, phonetic and morphologic change, development of Turkish language in historical and contemporary periods. In the first part, the introduction, the purpose, importance and limitations of the research are stated. Apart from this, theoretical information about the titles of the plants subjected to biological classification is given. In the second part, the review section, linguistic explanations about the plants identified in Old Turkish works are given. After these linguistic explanations, the status of the plant names in the historical and contemporary periods of the identified plants is mentioned and the contexts in which the plant name occurs are given. In the third part, the conclusion section, the plant names are categorized according to various criteria and a table is used to give a general view. When the plants of Old Turkish are analyzed and classified biologically, 6 plant names with open seeds, 46 with closed-seed monocotyledons, and 223 with closed-seed dicotyledons were identified.
