Child actors in ethical aspects

In this study titled "Child Actors with Ethical Aspects", the presence of child actors in television broadcasts is discussed from an ethical point of view. Qualitative scanning method was used in the research. The data to be used in the study were collected by interview method and. A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool in the research. The representation of children in the media has been evaluated within the framework of issues such as media ethics for children, children's rights, competence, the place of the child in society, and the developmental characteristics of the child. Interviews were held with undergraduate and graduate students of Çankırı Karatekin University Child Development Department, who were and are studying child development, which constitute the study group of the research, and the content analysis of the data obtained from the interviews was coded and analyzed. The interviews were supported with audio recordings in order to increase the reliability of the study. As a result of the research related to the study, it is seen that the majority of the undergraduate and graduate students of the Child Development department negatively evaluate the presence of children in television broadcasts. In addition, it is seen that the participants think that earning money through their children brings along ethical problems in child acting. In addition, the difficulty of the working conditions of child actors shows that the participants make connections with child labor. From another point of view, it is seen that there are students who evaluate the presence of children as actors in television broadcasts positively in terms of children's social development.
