Tevfik Fikret and his poems in the context of anxiety of influence

Abstract (EN)

Tevfik Fikret, who is considered one of the founders of Servet-i Fünûn, has brought many innovations to our literature. Tevfik Fikret fed on Divan literature in the early years of his poesy and Western literature in the following years. This nutrition has given a new perspective to his identity and poetry. In addition to Western literature, Tevfik Fikret did not stay away from the Turkish literature. He is an important poet who strived for contributing to the development of Turkish literature and moving it forward. In this study, the poets from whom Tevfik Fikret was influenced and who he influenced were discussed. Fikret's poems were examined as part of the poems of the poets he was influenced by, considering Harold Bloom's theory of poetry called the "Anxiety of Influence". In the introduction part, studies on Tevfik Fikret and Anxiety of Influence are included. In the first chapter, Tevfik Fikret's literary identity is emphasized. In the second chapter, initially six revision categories of the "Anxiety of Influence" theory were explained and poets and writers who influenced Tevfik Fikret were determined in the rest of the chapter. By making the period categorization, the poems of the poets from whom Fikret had the anxiety of influence were determined and evaluated according to the revision categories. In the conclusion part, a general evaluation of the review was made. All of the works used in the study are included in the bibliography section.
