Abstract (EN)

The aim of the research is to determine the Social Science Teachers and prospective Teachers views on the Field of Effective Citizenship Learning. The research was conducted according to case study pattern from qualitative research methods. The working group consist of 20 Social Sciences Teacher who teach in Elazığ province in the 2018-2019 academic year and 96 students who study in the Department of Social Studies Education of Fırat University. The working group were selected in accordance with easily accessible samples. Interview form was used as a data collection tool. Obtained data is evaluated by content analysis. At the end of the study, it was revealed that teachers and prospective teachers had similar views on effective citizenship gains, the skills to students provided by these gains, what needs to be done to acquire these skills and the lack of a attainment. Participants saw it as important in gaining rights and responsibilities. The fact that the gains are abstract and remain in the theoretical are stated as main deficiencies. The participants also showed similar views that effective citizenship gains are effective in solving daily problems.
