ABSTRACT PhD THESIS THE USING CONDITIONS OF ENZYME SUPPLEMENTATION TO THE BROtLER DIETS Sibel CANO?ULLARI DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL SCIENCE INSTITUTE OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES UNIVERSITY OF ÇUKUROVA Supervisor : Prof.Dr.Ferda OKAN Year: 1999, Pages: 136 Jury : Prof.Dr.Metin YELDAN Prof.Dr.Orhan ÖZTÜRKCAN Two experiments were planed to determine the best appropriate cc-amylase enzyme supplementation broiler diet based on corn and soybean meal. The research was conducted under in vitro and in vivo condition. In the first stage of the experiment broiler diets supplemented with 0, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3% enzyme levels were given dry, semi-wetting, wetting to the groups to search three diluted levels of broiler diets. Under in vitro conditions enzyme activities were increased in wetting diets supplemented with elevated enzyme levels. Under in vivo conditions, dry matter intake and body weight gain were increased in the group fed with wetted diet supplemented with 0.1%enzyme level. According to carcass parameters significant differences were observed in fat levels of abdominal fat, thigh and breast meat sections. Dry matter conversion efficiency in early weeks was improved with wetting and enzyme supplementation to the broiler diets, however after third weeks dry matter conversion efficiency was reduced. Abdominal fat pad weight was increased with wetting and enzyme supplementation to the broiler diets. In the second stage of the experiment dry and wet diets (an once, 1 hour later, 2 hour later) were given with 0, 0.1 and 0.2% supplemental enzyme, wetting- waiting period effect was searched. In vitro conditions of the experiment, the greater enzyme activities were obtained 1 hour waited broiler diets after wetting with all of enzyme supplementation levels. The best improvements were obtained 1 hour waited broiler diets after wetting supplemented with 0.1% enzyme. Dry matter conversion efficiency in early weeks was improved with wetting and enzyme supplementation to the broiler diets, but after third weeks dry matter conversion efficiency was reduced. The result from of this experiment demonsrated that broiler diets based on corn and soybean meal which were supplemented with 0.1% a-amylase enzyme should be given wetting and the results indicated that broiler diets should be given 1 hour later after wetting.
