Our paper entitled ?A study of elements and functions of linguistic communication in The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery? aims to observe the existence or not of the elements and functions of communication within the Little Prince of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, which is literary and philosophical book.We can see that all elements and all the functions of communication proposed by Jakobson are present in the Little Prince. Our study also noted that it is possible that several functions may overlap and take place simultaneously in a process of literary communication. However, it should be noted that readers of the Little Prince, to receive message(s) of the text, should have knowledge about the social, linguistic, cultural, etc. codes. We believe it would be useful to focus, in a future work, on the role and hierarchy of Jakobson's communication functions as well as the particular characteristics of the ludique function within a literary work.
