Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship among the need to belong, psychological resilience and life satisfaction in adults. In addition to this, the effect of some sociodemographic variables on the need to belong, psychological resilience and life satisfaction is examined. The sample of the research consists of 300 people chosen randomly between 25-50 ages in which there are 128 females and 172 males who are located in Fatih province of Istanbul. For data collection, sociodemographic form, the need to belong scale , short psychological resilience scale and life satisfaction scale were used. The survey model was applied in the research. The obtained data were analyzed by using the SPSS 21.0 program. According to the evaluation and analysis results, the level of psychological resilience and life satisfaction decreases as the need to belong of individuals increases. Another result is that there is a positive relationship between psychological resilience level and life satisfaction. Besides low need to belong indicates a high level of psychological resilience and life satisfaction. The role of the need belong was not found in the intermediary role of psychological resilience in the effect of life satisfaction. Demographic variables such as age, level of income, education level, friendship relations ,number of children, spouse job, number of people living at home and settlement type were found to be not significant differences in the level of the need to belong , psychological resilience and life satisfaction.
