The effect of attachment levels on the subjective happiness and quality of work life of employees who keep pets

The attachment of individuals who own pets to their pets can affect their subjective happiness and quality of work life. Especially people who have psychological problems such as stress, depression and unhappiness, or are prone to problems, own pets and share their homes and lives with them. There are many positive effects. It is possible to. Based on this, the aim of this study is; to measure the effect of white-collar employees in the service and production sector operating in Burdur province, as well as the attachment levels of these employees who keep pets, to their pets on their subjective happiness and quality of work life. In addition, in this study, the differences in the level of devotion to pets, subjective happiness and perception of work life quality of employees who keep pets according to demographic characteristics were examined. Within the framework of this purpose, these activities, which are carried out with a good research method, were conducted in private sector regions operating in Burdur Province and an informative research was conducted through online surveys reviewed with Google form links. The routine of the research consists of white-collar workers in the service and production sector operating in Burdur province. To display the survey rate variables used in the research, the Lexington Pet Attachment Scale, adapted to Turkish by Karameşe (2014), the Subjective Happiness Scale adapted to Turkish by Akın and Salesman (2011) and the Work Life Quality Scale developed by Çiçek (2005) were used. According to the findings of the research, it was determined that there was a positive and significant relationship between the level of commitment to pets and subjective happiness, and between the level of commitment to pets and quality of work life. When examined in the context of the sub-dimensions of the concepts, general attachment and subjective happiness, working conditions; animal rights and subjective happiness, services provided; no significant effect was found between human substitution and working conditions.
