Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study is to examine the mediating role of dyadic adjustment and dyadic trust in the relationship between childhood traumas and marital disaffection in married individuals. The sample of the study consists of 462 married individuals, 328 female and 134 male, between the ages of 21-70, living in Turkey, reached through online platforms and participating in the study voluntarily. The Demographic Information Form, Childhood Traumas Questionnaire (CTQ-33), Marital Disaffection Scale, Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale and Dyadic Trust Scale were used in the data collection process of the study. The analyses in the study were conducted using IBM SPSS 27 software. Pearson Correlation analysis was used for relationships between variables, and Independent Groups t-test, ANOVA test and Kruskal Wallis-H test were used to determine the differences of variables according to demographic data. Process Macro 4.2 program was used in the mediating role analyses. As a result; when both mediator variables, namely dyadic trust and dyadic adjustment are added to the model it is seen that their indirect effects and serial indirect effects are significant; the predictive effect of childhood traumas on marital disaffection loses its significance. It was determined that there were significant differences in the research variables according to gender, age, type of marriage, duration of marriage, number of children, family income level and psychological/psychiatric treatment status.
