Examination of married individuals' existed conflicts, attachment styles and problem solving abilities with marriage satisfaction

This study's aim is to reveal examine married individuals' existed conflicts, attachment styles and problem solving abilities with marriage satisfaction. Besides, the effects of some socio-demographic variables such as age, sex, children number, marriage duration, marriage styles, income level, education level, employment status on marriage satisfaction are examined.170 married individuals who are living in Turkey-İstanbul is participated to the research that based on voluntariness and random sampling.Also, "Personel Information Form" to collect data, "Marriage Conflict Scale" to evaluate marriage conflict, "Experience Inventory in Close Relations" to attachment styles, "Problem Solving Inventory" to evaluate problem solving abilities, and "Marriage Life Scale" to evaluate marriage satisfaction are used.According to analysis and examination, it is found out that as conflict levels increase in married individuals, their marriage satisfaction levels decrease; as their anxious attachment levels increase, their marriage satisfaction levels decrease;as their avoidant attachment levels increase, their marriage satisfaction levels decrease; and as married individuals' self-inedaquate perception levels about problem solving abilities increse, their marriage satisfaction levels decrease.When marriage satisfaction is examined by socio-demographic variables, it is seen that there is a meaningful difference between marriage style and marriage satisfaction.Thus, married individuals who decide their marriage concurringly have higher level of marriage satisfaction than who had arranged marriage.There was no meaningful results for socio-demographic variables that take a part in the research, such as individuals' age, sex, children number, income level and employment status.As a result, findings show that marriage satisfaction is related to marriage conflict, attachment styles and problem solving abilities.These data that support hypothesis and applications will be examined through the literature.
