Abstract (EN)
This study is focused on amount of love which are interpreted by the marital compatibility, marriage satisfaction, satisfaction with life of the married couples. The amount of love conceptualized within the framework of Sternberg's Triangular Theory of Love. The sample of the study consists of 240 married participants, of whom 153 are women and 87 are men, ranging in age from 21 to 75 years. The amount of love has been measured by using "Sternberg's Triangular Love Scale". The marital compatibility has been evaluated by using "Marital Adjustment Scale". The marital satisfaction has been determined by using "Marital Life Scale" and the satisfaction with life has been determined by using "Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS)". In addition, "Personal Information Form" which is developed by the researcher, is used to define socio-demographical and relational variables from acquired data. Independent t-test and one-way ANOVA are used in order to verify the existence of a variation in the data generated by the scales due to different demographic backgrounds. Pearson correlation analysis, basic regression analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis are used to determine the association of the measured variables. By analyzing the collected data from married individuals, it is concluded that marital compatibility, marital satisfaction, and life satisfaction are positively influenced by the amount of love. Significant differences are observed at levels of studied variables of the married couples when compared by age and education differences of the couples, dating duration prior to marriage, number of children, and definition of marriage (marriage of love/marriage of convenience). On the other hand, no significant difference is detected at levels of studied variables when compared by gender, income level, and scope of work. All of the findings are discussed within the basis of related literature.
