Abstract (EN)
In this study, marital satisfaction, gender roles and help-seeking attitudes of married individuals in terms of some demographic variables (sex, age, level of education, number of children and duration of marriage) were investigated.For this study, 302 (144 women, 158 men) married individuals, live in Ankara, were randomly selected.The data were gathered by administrating Dyadic adjustment Scale (DAS), Bem Sex Role Inventory-Short Form, Help-Seeking Attitudes Scale (YATÖ) and Demographic Information Form to 302 married individuals. To test the hypotheses of the study t-tests, one-way analysis of variance, post-hoc tests (Tukey, Tamhane) Pearson product-moment correlation techniques and multiple regression analyses were conducted. In this study, 0.5 significant level was accepted.Results revealed that there was no significant difference between marital satisfaction and sex, age, level of education, number of children and marriage duration of married individuals. It was also found that, there was a significant difference between gender roles and marital satisfaction, the marital satisfaction of individuals having androjenity and femininity gender role was higher than individuals having undifferentiated and masculinity gender role. Women?s marital satisfaction was differentiated according to their gender roles, but men?s marital satisfaction was not differentiated. The findings of the study were discussed in the light of relevant literature.
