Conceptual metaphors in Evliya Çelebi's Seyahatname

In this study, emotion metaphors in the first four volumes of Evliya Çelebi's Seyahatname are analysed within the scope of conceptual metaphor theory. With this study, it is aimed both to examine and investigate the theory on a work and to reveal the language features and metaphor richness of the Seyahatname. This thesis is important in terms of applying and analysing a contemporary theory on a classical work in a comprehensive way, thus providing information about the metaphorical language of the period and thus the way of thinking and perceiving the world.
