Phrases which are used as verb and noun and does not exist in Turkish dictionary and their importance in the education of Turkish as a foreign language

Phrases which are used as verb and noun but are not included in Turkish Dictionary (Turkish Language Association) are identified in this study. It is discussed why these phrases should be included in Turkish Dictionary and they are examined according to their morphological and semantic features. In the first part of the study, after the approaches and evaluations to the definition and the importance of the language are explained, the close relationship of the language between the national function and culture is expressed. It is also discussed that the language has the features of change and develop based upon the developments in technology and socio-cultural life. The phases of the Lexicalization, the effect of inter-languages word borrowings for the vocabulary and new words which occur in accordance with these are discussed and the history of the lexicography is retraced. In the first phase of the second part, the approaches of those who develop definitions on the issue of phrase structure or compound word are carried out. In this part, the traditional and contemporary approaches are explained together in order to put out the problem and provide a discussion platform. In the second phase, stereotyped words (function word) alongside with the stereotyped components that are carried out as a one word are studied. In the third phase, idioms and the phases of idiomization are identified. Meaning changes and connoted meanings which are observed especially in idioms are observed to display similarities with lexical units which are chosen for this study. In the third part of the study, methods and data base that are used to determine the new word in the form of phase structure are explained. While the problem is put out and discussed, the issue of why phrase structures are single words is also carried out In the fourth part of the study, it is told about that phrase structures may be used in education of the Turkish as a foreign language and the studies which are related to these words are displayed after the approaches which are related to education of grammar and lexicon in foreign language are explained.
