Abstract (EN)

It is aimed to determine some socio-demographic factors affecting the self-esteem of the workers working in various factories in Gaziantep province and to increase the business success by evaluating the ergonomic conditions and evaluating them in terms of interaction with self-esteem. A total of 1475 workers working in the Gürteks factories in the province of Gaziantep have constructed the universe of the descriptive research. 755 workers have agreed to participate in the survey of the sample conducted by the cluster sampling method in June-September 2014. SPSS 16.0 statistical package program was used in the analysis. A questionnaire and Rosenberg self-esteem scale were used to determine the socio-demographic and ergonomic characteristics of the workers who were created by the researcher. It was determined that 38.3% of the surveyed workers were in the age range of 26-30 years, 97.2% were male, 82.8% were married, 70.7% were children and 75.2% were high school graduates. It was found that 82.3% of the workers were working less than the income, 86% were working in shifts, 65.3% were working overtime, 84.1% were not paid as much as they did and 17.9% . It was determined that 40.4% of the workers had problems in the workplace, 73.2% felt psychological burnout within working hours and 30.9% had musculoskeletal problems in the workplace. 62.3% of the workers stated that they did not take measures against work accidents at the workplace and 26.6% stated that they were exposed to work accidents. It was determined that 75.4% of the workers did not have an ergonomic working environment, 43% were in the enlightenment, 78.5% were in the warming, and 87.4% were in the ergonomic problems related to the noise. 52.5% of the workers were found to be at an intermediate level of self-esteem. A large majority of workers were determined that the workplace did not meet the standards of ergonomic work, more than half of the equipment and tools used were not ergonomic, and half of the self-respect of the excess was found to be moderate. Identification of factors that negatively affect self-esteem such as ergonomics in the workers and taking necessary precautions in this direction should increase self-confidence and self-esteem of employees by supporting them in terms of social and ergonomic aspects.
