Abstract (EN)
The thesis will scrutinize the concept of language and happiness of Al-Farabi's moral philosophy.. According to Al-Farabi, who asserted that happiness is one of the most essential parts of life, existing is possible with happiness, and again, being in existence also is the end cause of happiness. While the thesis is in preparation, we benefited from many sources; for a detailed conveying of the object, we examined books, articles, master theses, and others. By the information obtained, we revealed Al-Farabi's happiness concept and some language thoughts, and we supported our inferences with scientific data. The information obtained from all sources scanned has been shown in footnotes by referring to the source taken. The resources we searched for al-Farabi's understanding of happiness and language enabled us to have much more information on the subject, and thus showed that we have very incomplete and wrong information on this subject. While trying to explain the meaning and importance of the concept of happiness, which is a very broad concept, according to a philosophical way and Farabi; on the other hand, we tried to compare this concept with the understanding of happiness of today's people. On the one hand, we tried to explain the meaning and importance of the concept of happiness, which is a very broad concept, according to a philosophical way and Al-Farabi's thoughts; on the other hand, we compared this concept with the understanding of happiness of today's people. Inferences we got showed us that the understanding of happiness -whether philosophical, social, or individual- that Al-Farabi emphasized is not possible to be able to be seen and understood by today. We have observed that this happiness, which is based entirely on the purposes of thought and the creation of humans, has no relevance in today's world material happiness. According to Farabi, happiness is a phenomenon that requires demanding and continual effort, rather than sudden happiness experienced today. Although the sudden pleasures of life give instant happiness and comfort, they are far from giving permanent happiness and from satisfying people in this regard. Perhaps, in the clearest expression, happiness for humans is living with the awareness that of being human and living in the way with the purpose for which it was created.
