Abstract (EN)

Bike-Sharing Systems (BSS), which has become increasingly widespread in the last decade, is a shared intelligent transportation system (ITS) technology that aims to support smart mobility. Developing solutions to complex decision problems that will increase the efficiency of BSSs in order to reduce traffic congestion, air pollution, noise pollution and natural resource consumption in cities is important to create a more livable environment in sustainable cities. One of the most important strategic decisions to increase the efficiency of BSS is the process of determining the station locations of the system (site selection). In this study, a scientific framework is presented for determining alternative station locations according to different land use type and evaluating the suitability of existing station locations for a BSS in İzmir. For this purpose, the criteria that are effective in deploying BPS stations have been determined and the criteria have been weighted by using AHP method according to different land use type. Also, the change in the criterion weights according to the land use type was evaluated. The uncertainty of the impact of potential passengers on the criteria of producing trips at the stations within a certain reach from the facilities was characterized by using fuzzy logic approach. Finally, potential stations for transportation, recreation and educational use were identified for BSS in the province of Izmir, and existing stations and potential stations were listed with the help of VIKOR from the best to the worst. As a result of the study, 42, 28 and 48 alternative station locations were determined for transportation, recreation and education land use types, which can be integrated into the urban transportation system, support recreational activities and easily accessible to educational areas. In addition, it was determined that the station number 1105 from the existing stations, according to the land use, is in a position to best support the trips for transportation, recreation and education.
