Abstract (EN)

Paper is an environmentally friendly product produced from cellulose fibers and can be recycled. Since the recycling issue is extremely important in all industrial productions, it is of vital importance that the used papers are recovered at the highest rate and reused in the most optimum way in the paper industry, which has a serious raw material shortage. Waste papers are very different from each other according to the fibers they contain, fillings, chemical compositions, and production systems. For this reason, it is imperative to carry out serious studies on the additives and chemicals that will inevitably be used in the recycling processes of waste paper. Since the fiber strength will decrease in each cycle in waste papers, it is inevitable to use strength-increasing chemicals. Depending on the physical and mechanical damage of the fibers, processes such as filtration, formation, and adhesion change during the production process, as well as changes in properties such as strength, air permeability, and surface smoothness in the final products. Ink removal, which is required to increase the color values in waste papers, is a much more complex and detailed process. The paper production process from pulps consisting of primary fibers with more stable raw material properties poses relatively few problems. However, processes are much more uncertain in factories that produce paper from waste papers, whose contents and ratios are extremely complex and variable, depending on time and where the source comes from. Uncontrollable breaks and factory downtimes cause great damage. Therefore, more types of chemicals should be used more sensitively in the recycling of waste paper. In this study, a large number of hand papers were produced from corrugated, office, newspaper, and coated waste papers in 100 g/m2 weights in the Rapid Köth Estanid paper-making device. In the study, a large number of hand papers were produced by adding AKD, starch, and polyacrylamides with 8% and 20% solids content to the stock as separate sets. It has been tried to monitor and understand the variations in the interactions of waste paper classes, whose fiber, filler, and chemical contents differ from each other, with the most common chemicals used in papermaking. In the study, it was observed that it is difficult to process specially classified waste paper and mixed waste that comes to the factory at the end of the wild collection. It has been seen again that it is difficult to fix the pulp properties in mixed papers, control the production process, and keep the changes in the final product properties to a minimum.
