Investigation of the relationship between course-leisure conflict of university students learning in different departments

Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to examine the levels of university students studying in different departments between course leisure time conflict according to different variables. Unlike other studies, our study was conducted on the conflict between lecture and leisure time of university students. It is expected that the life satisfaction levels of individuals who have a course-leisure conflict will be low. This is a factor that may negatively affect the working efficiency of the students. At this point, the present study is important in terms of both the due diligence and the various suggestions to eliminate the deficiency at this stage. The universe of the study consists of the undergraduate students of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University. The sample of the study consists of a total of 340 students (194 women and 146 men) who have undergraduate education in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and School of Physical Education and Sports. In order to measure personal information form and participants' leisure-time conflict levels as a data collection tool, Tsaur et al. (2012) was developed by Işık and Demirel (2018) and translated into Turkish. According to the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis results, the scale consists of 5 sub-dimensions and 20 items. Descriptive Statistics, T-Test and ANOVA-MANOVA statistics were used in the analysis of the data. According to the findings obtained, the variables of gender, age, faculty / school, and department they studied were determined as; while there was a significant difference in the level of conflict between the course and the leisure time in terms of age, faculty / school and department they studied, but not in terms of other variables. According to this, it is seen that the scores obtained in the conflict between the free time and the course vary depending on the gender, age, faculty / college and department, while the scores obtained in the conflict of free time with the course vary depending on age, faculty / college and department.
