Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study to examine the relationship between Academic optimism and Vocational self-esteems. Research datas were collected using academic optimism scale and vocational self-esteem scale. In addition, the personal information form which prepared by researchers was used. During 2014-2015 Academic year, 303 teachers who are working in total of 16 secondary school located in center of Kocaeli, became a member of research group. The below demographic numbes illustrate the member of research team; 54.5% of female teachers (n=165) and %45.5 of male teachers (n=138) and the avarage of teachers 39.06 (Ss=8.63). T-Test, One-way analysis of variance, Tukey test and correlation techniques are used depeding on variables. According to research results, in terms of their gender and educational level, average of academic optimism subscale scores and professional self-esteem mean scores significantly progressed (p>.05). Variable in terms of seniority of teachers, professional self-esteem mean scores (F=1.378, p>.05), collective competence of academic optimism subscale and confidence in the sub-dimensions (F=1.526, p>.05; F=1.522, p>.05) did not significanlty progress but academic emphasis on the lower size significantly improved (F=2.560, p<.05). Variable in terms of school type and school environment; lower level of collective competence of academic optimism subscale, trust and dimension of academic emphasism and professional self-esteem significanly progressed in favor of secondary school teachers (p<.01). Academic average of optimism subscale scores and professional self-esteem of Teachers who appreciate the top positively increased compared to others (p<.01). To see appreciate from top, positively effects on teachers lower level of collective competence of academic optimism subscale, confidence and academic emphasis levels. Collective competancy (r=.26, p<.001), trust (r=.28, p<.001) and academic emphasis (r=.28, p<.001)which are Dimension of Vocational self-esteems and academic optimism scales has a positive relationship between each others. Related literature research findings are done.
