Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out in the greenhouses of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Agricultural Application and Research Center in 2017. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of shading rates (control, 35 % and 70 %) on nursery trees quality of different mulberry species, M. nigra and M. laevigata. As a result of the study, the number of tree roots, root diameter, tree diameter, tree weight, plant height, shoot length and the number of bud were affected by shading applications in M. nigra and M. laevigata trees. In M. laevigata, tree root length, tree diameter, tree weight, number of shoots and number of buds were affected by shading applications. The highest tree weight in black mulberry was found in control (without shading) application with 152.75 g, followed by 35 % shading with 116.46 g and 70 % shading with 72.76 g. In M. laevigata species, the highest tree root length was obtained from 35 % shading application with 80.01, followed by 70 % shading with 69.33 cm and control with 61.56 cm. The highest number of bud in M. laevigata species was found in 35% shading with 25.73, followed by control with 20.96. Consequently, it was determined that M. nigra nursery trees developed better in light than in shade. M. laevigata nursery trees can be said to have an advantage of 35 % shading for some characters, although in general they do not differ significantly from control. In addition, it was determined that the diameter and weight of the cutting used affected the nursery tree quality.
