Özet (EN)
This study has been conducted to determine the shopping behaviors of women with differenteducational backgrounds. The scope of the study is women varying in age 18 and over in Elmadağ,Ankara. A questionnaire prepared by the analyst has been given to 300 randomly chosen women asthe sampling group.It has been also found out that those with a university and/or post-graduate degree arebasically affected by their friends while primary school graduates by their children and those withhigh school degrees by their mothers. The said difference for women with different educationalbackgrounds deciding what to buy is statistically significant (p<.05).Many women have been determined to go shopping when necessary and primary and highschool graduates seem to do so more than those with a university degree. The difference in thefrequency of shopping between women with different educational backgrounds is not significant(p>.05).It has been also found out that high school graduates pay much more attention to the price ofthe clothes more than those with a university degree whereas the latter and high school graduatescare that their clothes be fashionable. The difference in perception between these groups of womenabout the price and being fashionable of their clothes statistically seems significant (p<.05).It has been figured out that those with a university degree encounter more problems inclothing. This feature also seems to be significant (p<.05).Most women seem to report the problems they encounter back to the shops and those with auniversity degree do so more than others. It has been also determined that many women especiallythose with a university degree are satisfied with their clothes.Key words: women, clothing, shopping behavior.
