The effect on the agricultural and quality characteristics of wild hardal (Brassica: Sinapis arvensis L.) of phosphorus fertilizer doses at different sowing dates

Thesis, Department of Field Crops Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Rüveyde TUNÇTÜRK August 2019, 46 pages This study was conducted to determine the effect of phosphorus fertilizer doses on agricultural and quality characteristics of wild mustard in Van-Gurpınar ecological conditions. The experiment was arranged according to the split plot design in randomized blocks. Sowing time in the main plots and phosphorus doses in the sub plots is arranged as 3 replications. In the study, three different sowing times (5 April, 15 April and 25 April) and 3 different doses of phosphorus (0, 50 and 100 kg/ha P2O5) were used. In the experiment, plant height, the first branch height, number of lateral branches, number of pod, number of seeds in pod, thousand seed weight, seed yield, crude oil ratio and crude oil yield were investigated. As a result of research, the highest seed yield (1562.6 kg ha-1) was obtained from 5 April sowing date and 50 kg ha-1 phosphorus application while the highest crude oil yield (344.5 kg ha-1) from 5 April sowing date and 100 kg ha-1 phosphorus application. According to the results of correlation analysis; it was determined that there was a statistically significant and positive relationship between the plant height and the first branch height, number of lateral branches, number of pod and number of seed in pod. Also, there was a significant and positive relationship between seed yield and oil ratio with oil yield. Keywords: Sowing time, Phosphorus doses, Sinapis arvensis L., Yield
