Abstract (EN)

In this research, the effect of different doses of phosphorus (P) on the yield and some quality parameters of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum L.) were investigated. The research was carried out in Siirt ecological conditions in the vegetation period of 2020-2021. In the study, five different doses of phosphorus (0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 kg P2O5/ha) has been considered as the subject of research. The experiment was arranged in accordance with a completely randomized block design with four replications. In the study, plant height, number of branches, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, pod width, pod length, biological yield, seed yield, harvest index, thousand-grain weight, fixed oil ratio and fixed oil yield were investigated. Results of the research show that effects of phosphorus doses on number of branches, number of pod per plant, number of seed per pod, pod lenght, biological yield, seed yield, thousand grain weight, fixed oil ratio and fixed oil yield were significant. On the other hand, the effects of phosphorus doses on plant height, pod width and harvest index were insignificant. According to P doses, plant height, number of branches, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, pod width, pod length, biological yield, seed yield, harvest index, thousand-grain weight, fixed oil ratio and fixed oil yield were ranged between 53.55-54.90 cm, 4.90-5.48 number/plant, 20.00-31.30 number/plant, 15.00-16.85 number/pod, 3.80-3.85 mm, 14.52-16.27 cm, 3444.0-4636.0 kg/ha, 1418.0-1859.0 kg/ha, 39.51-42.76%, 17.05-18.75 g, 3.85-4.98% and 54.8-91.9 kg/ha, respectively. Seed yield increased with increasing phosphorus doses up to 90 kg/ha, but showed a decreasing course at higher phosphorus dose. As a result, it may be said that 60 kg/ha phosphorus dose would be sufficient in order to economic production and sustainability agriculture in fenugreek production for similar soil conditions.
