Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted at the Experimental Area of Çukurova University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops in 2018 as a double crop growing season. The objective of this study two determine the effects of mechanical damage on yield and some important plant characteristics of soybean at different crop development periods. The experimental design was a split plot with three replications. The mechanical damage was applied at V1, V2 and V3 growth stages. Arısoy and Blaze varieties were used as plant materials. As a result of the research, it was found that the same rate of mechanical damages in the V1, V2 and V3 vegetative development periods affected the yield at different rates. The highest seed yield was obtained from the first three-leaf period (V1) applications (516.8-421.2 kg/da). Mechanical damage to the growing point during early vegetative development minimized the loss of yield as a result of the buds in the lower knuckle creating more lateral branches and pods.
