Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of MAP (Modified atmosphere packaging),1-MCP (1-Methylcyclopropene) and MAP+1-MCP on the storage time and product quality of Marathon F1 broccoli were investigated. For this purpose, broccoli in 20 µ LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) cover were kept for 70 days at 0 ± 1oC temperature and 90 ± 5% relative humidity. In addition, samples were kept for 4 days in room conditions with 20 ± 2 °C temperature and 60 ± 5% relative humidity in addition to the storage period for shelf life determination. Weight loss, crown color, TSS, pH, TA, ascorbic acid, chlorophyll content, marketability were analyzed in samples taken during storage and at the end of shelf life. As a result of this study, MAP applications were found to be more successful than Control applications, while the results of MAP+1-MCP conditions were successful in Weight Loss, Marketability Status parameters.
