Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to investigate some physical properties of taekwondo players of different belt levels and their levels of speed, strength, agility, endurance, balance and flexibility. Randomly selected 80 healthy children (44 girls and 36 boys),between 11 and 14 years of age who were engaged in taekwondo sport in Rize province participated in this study. In the evaluation of the physical properties of the athletes participating in the study, Height Length and Body Weight measurements were taken. In the evaluation of motoric features, 30 m Speed Test, Long Jump by standing and Vertical Jumping Test, Hand Grip Force Test, 30 sec Push-Up and Shuttle Test Illinois Agility Test, 3 min Step Test, Hexagonal Obstagle Test, Flamingo Balance and Reach-Access Flexibility tests were applied. The normality test was applied primarily to the obtained data. It was seen that the data had a normal distribution. Afterwards, T-Test was applied for two independent groups in bilateral comparisons at 0.05 significance level, and one-way Anova Test in three and above comparisons. Tukey's HSD test was used as the second level test for the significant differences. When the statistical test results obtained in the study are examined, according to the gender variable, the length of the athletes, body weights, speed, balance, agility, 30 sec push-ups, right and left hand grip strength, long jump by standing, vertical jump, 3 min step and hexagonal test values while there was no difference (p> 0.05), a significant difference was found in stretch-reach flexibility and 30 sec shuttle test values (p <0.05). According to the belt variable, while there was no significant difference between the lengths, body weights, stretch reach flexibility, 30 sec shuttle, left hand grip strength and 3 min step test values of the athletes between the groups (p> 0.05), a significant difference was found between the groups in 30 m speed, flamingo balance, Illinois agility, 30 sec push-ups, right hand grip strength, long jump by standing, vertical jump and hexagonal test values. As a result, according to gender factor there is no significant difference between the athletes in terms of their physical and motoric features. When athletes are analyzed according to their belt levels, it is seen that taekwondo sport has an important contribution to the development of physical and motor performance characteristics.
