The effect of different mycorrhizal species and spore doses on host plant species root inoculation and plant growth

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research was to determine the most suitable mycorrhizal spore doses and root infection % for optimum plant growth in different host plants with the different harvest time, mycorrhizal species and their doses application. The experiment was carried out at University of Çukurova, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Soil Science, under greenhouse conditions. In the Experiment maize, sorghum, leek, onion, clover and alfalfa were used as host plants. In this experiment Glomus mossea and G etunicatum were used as mycoriza species with the different spore doses (Control, 500-1000 and 2000 spore/plant). In this experiment shoot and root dry matter, root infection, spore production, P and Zn uptake were determined at 3-4-5* and 8th weeks after sowing. All the host plants were affected positive by mycorrhiza applications. Root infection and spore production were determined to be at high level after 4th and 5th weeks from sowing times. The most suitable host plants were found to be clover and alfalfa in respect to spore production. 500 and 1000 spore/plant were found to be enough for maximum root infection, plant growth ant nutrient uptake. Both of mycorrhizae species especially G. mossea increased the plant growth, % root infection and spore production. Keywords: Host plant, spore production, root infection, different harvest time
