Abstract (EN)
1 08- As a result, the motivation method of group A was found most effective and constant than others. Besides, in group C and D, the oral hygiene instructions were less impressive. The instructions given by a brochure have no effect on OH status in group B. Subsequently there wasn't any statistical difference between the regular follow up sessions performing 15 and 30 days.SUMMARY This study was planned to find out the most effective patient motivation method out of four different methods that are performed for eliminating microbial dental plaque and maintaining periodontal health. The efficacy of recall appointments were also evaluated. The 120 participants of this study were randomly selected from students who were at the first term of dental faculty Gazi University in 1994-1995. At baseline plaque(PII, Silness-Löe) and g i n g i v a I ( G I, Löe-Silnes) indices and pocket depth measurements were performed at four surfaces of teeth in order to determine the level of oral hygiene and periodontal status. After carrying out a professional periodontal therapy, the individuals were divided into four groups comprising 30 students and these groups were classified as A, B, C and D. Each of the groups that were divided into two subgroups of 15 studentsSUMMARY This study was planned to find out the most effective patient motivation method out of four different methods that are performed for eliminating microbial dental plaque and maintaining periodontal health.
