Abstract (EN)

Biomaterials or implants to be used in interventional procedures must be physically and biologically compatible with the natural tissue and should not induce an immunological response in the body. Metallic nanoparticles can exhibit antibacterial effects with multiple toxic effects. The most reported antibacterial properties are metallic nanoparticles of silver nanoparticles. The antibacterial effect of silver nanoparticles cell type may vary with the type and Gram pozitive/ negative properties. PVC is widely used in different industrial applications in terms of ease of processing, compatibility with different materials and versatility. In medical and biomedical fields, PVC widely used in many biomaterials. The production of antibacterial PVC biomaterials is undoubtedly important for health applications. This study also compared the antibacterial and antibiotic activity of silver nanoparticles (AgNP) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) composites with certain weight ratios against infectious strains important for may cause contamination in PVC biomaterials used in body systems (respiratory, digestive, etc.) and medical devices and hospital infections. We believe that nanotechnology will provide the basis for further studies planned to be done
