Abstract (EN)

Evaluation of the Effect of Different Remineralization Agents on the Surface Microhardness of Primary Teeth Applied with Resin Infiltration Technique The aim of this in-vitro study is to evaluate the changes in the surface microhardness value of applying ICON-Infiltrate alone to the white spot lesions of primary tooth and applying ICON-Infiltrate together with toothpastes containing different remineralization agents. In the study, 50 extracted caries-free human primary incisors were used. An artificial white spot lesion (demineralization) was created on the labial enamel surface of all teeth. The samples were randomly divided into five groups: Group 1 (Control), Group 2 (Resin infiltration), Group 3 (Resin infiltration + Sensodyne Promine for children), Group 4 (Resin infiltration + GC Tooth Mousse), Group 5 (Resin infiltration + Theodent kids). Resin infiltrate was applied to G2, G3, G4 and G5. All groups were then subjected to pH cycle. Toothpaste was applied to G3, G4 and G5 together with the pH cycle. The initial surface values of the samples and the surface changes, after applied demineralization, resin infiltrate and pH cycle, were determined by DIAGNOdent and surface microhardness measurements. Penetration quality of resin infiltrate and changes caused by toothpaste were evaluated by Scanning Electron Microscope. As a result of experimental applications; after applied resin infiltrate, pH cycle and toothpaste application with pH cycle, statistical differences were seen between the groups. It was observed that the surface microhardness decreased at every stage in the control group. In the resin infiltrate group; the resin improved the surface, and the pH cycle weakened the surface. In toothpaste groups; While it was observed that resin application and toothpaste application with pH cycle improved the surface, no difference was found between the groups. After the resin infiltrate was applied, it was seen that brushing the surface with a toothpaste increased the microhardness value and preserved the resin structure.
