Özet (EN)

In this study, advanced technology dental restorative materials, which have been increasingly used in human dentistry in recent years, were used. The use of these restorative materials has not yet become widespread in veterinary dentistry. The clinical and radiological effects of fillings with these restorative materials on saliva and serum cortisol levels in dogs with caries disease were investigated. This study was carried out on 12 dogs, including a control group (n = 7) and a total of (n = 5) dogs in the experimental groups. After clinical and radiographic examinations, 30 teeth with caries were filled with different restorative materials (3M Filtek One Bulk Fill Restorative Capsule Composite A2 Color, 3M Z 550 Composite A2 Color) and bonding agents (Tokuyama Bond Force II, 3M Universal Scotchbond Universal Plus). In order to determine the serum cortisol level, blood samples were taken into gel tubes at 0 minutes before the filling, 0 minutes after the filling, 1 hour and 24 hours after the filling, and saliva samples were taken simultaneously with the blood samples by swap to determine the salivary cortisol values. The clinical findings, radiographic findings, hematological and biochemical findings were evaluated. Filling treatment was followed up with clinical and radiographic findings. No statistically significant difference was observed between the control group and the experimental group when evaluated hematologically (p> 0.05). When evaluated biochemically, a statistically significant difference was observed only in ALP (p= 0.003*) and Globulin (p= 0.005*) data (p<0.05). When blood cortisol values were compared according to groups, no statistically significant difference was noted between them (p = 0.149). When the experimental group's own data are evaluated depending on time; A statistically significant difference was noted between them (p= 0.019*). When salivary cortisol values were compared according to groups, a statistically significant difference was noted between them (p = 0.030*). When the experimental group's own data were evaluated over time, a statistically significant difference was noted between them (p= 0.048*). iv As a result, in these cases, which were evaluated clinically and radiologically that the above-mentioned materials used in this study reduced blood and saliva cortisol values after filling, these materials, which were used for the first time in Turkey in the veterinary field, can replace other filling materials. But considering their high cost and the small number of cases, it was concluded that more extensive research is needed.
