Abstract (EN)
In this study, we aimed to investigate the potential effects of linuron on biochemical biomarkers at different temperature conditions in carp, Cyprinus carpio. Fish were exposed to linuron (Afalon, Adama, 450 g/L) for 96 hrs at 10 g/L, 50g/L and 100 g/L at 22 ºC and at the elevated water temperatures (28 ºC). In liver tissue; acetylcholinesterase, ethoxirezorufin O-deethylase, superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione S-transferase, glutathione reductase and glutathione peroxidase activities; glutathione, malondialdehyde, protein carbonyl and protein amounts; in blood; estradiol and testosterone levels were determined. According to the results of the study, despite the induction of antioxidant enzyme activities in C. carpio against the toxicity of linuron at different temperatures, the decrease in protein carbonyl content after 22 ºC exposure and the increase after 28 ºC exposure compared to the control showed that oxidative damage occurs. It has also been found that the increase in temperature causes endocrine disruption in fish, which is shown by an increase in the levels of estrogen and testosterone in blood.
