Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to compare the acute effects of 4 different squat exercises, performed with a traditional set(TS) and rest redistribution(RR) on jump performance at different recovery times. 17 active male football players(age: 18.58±0.17 years; height: 180.65±5.31 cm; body weight: 70.88±4.99kg; training age: 8.47±2.55 years) of a team in Turkey's U19 football league voluntarily participated in the study. All participants performed four different squat exercises with 18 repetitions, 72 hours apart, on four different days. squat set structures used in the study; It consists of one traditional set (6 reps x 3 sets with 180 sec interset rest) method and three different cluster set methods designed with the rest redistribution ((RR1: 3 reps x 6 sets, 20sec intraset rest and 150sec interset rest; RR2: 2 reps x 9 sets, 20sec intraset rest and 120sec interset rest; RR3: 1 rep x 18 sets, 20sec interrepetition rest). In all applications, the intensity (%85 1RM)and total rest times(360sec) were kept equal, only the set configuration was used as a variable. Participants' active jump heights were measured before each different set structures and after 15 seconds, 4 minutes, 8 minutes and 12 minutes of passive rest, and also velocity-based data (velocity loss percentages[%VL]; peak velocity[PV]; peak power[PP]; total time[TOT]; time under tension[TUT]) for all protocols were recorded for analysis with a PUSHBand device. The results for all data obtained from the tests were compared with the two-way variance analysis(4 x 5 [protocol x time] in the analysis of differences between protocols and different recovery times in the countermovement jump test; 4 x 3 [protocol x set] In the analysis of velocity-based data, the peak values of each set are taken). After statistical analysis, it was seen that there was a PAPE (post-activation performance enhancement) effect(p=0,001) on all post-procedures 4-minute jump performances except TS and compared with the pretests of jumps after 15 s recovery, probably fatigue-related decrease was observed in TS(36,15±4,40cm) while all other procedure values were higher(RR1=38,55±4,25cm, RR2=38,94±4,68cm, RR3=38,28±4,10cm). In addition, it has been determined that dividing the sets in the traditional set method into smaller sets allows us to obtain larger PV(p<0,001 np2=0,493) ve PP(p<0,001 np2=0,325) values, while lower VL(p<0,001 np2=0,391) is observed. In addition, while dividing the sets up into two repetitions does not make a significant difference in TOT, it has been observed that significantly higher values are achieved in the TUT(p<0,001 np2=0,851). As a result, it can be recommended that practitioners use the clustering methods in our study both in their training and in their warm-ups.
