Abstract (EN)

1.2. Abstract Aim: The purpose of this in vitro study, evaluate the stain susceptibility of CAD/CAM blocks, traditional composite and ceramic block after long term exposure to various staining agents. Material and Method: Samples were fabricated from each of six materials; a lithium disilicate glass ceramic (IPS e.max CAD), a resin nanoceramic (Lava Ultimate), a hybrid dental ceramic (Vita Enamic) and three direct composites (3M Filtek ultimate, Clearfil Majesty Esthetic, G-aenial anterior). Specimens 1,2 mm in thickness and 7x7 mm squares were prepared. Samples were randomly divided into four groups (n = 10) according to different staining solutions (distilled water, black tea, red wine and coffee). Initial L*a*b* values were assessed using digital spectrophotometer. Specimens were immersed in staining solutions and stored in an incubator at 37 °C for 120 days. L*a*b* values were assessed again and color change (DE) was calculated as difference between recorded L*a*b* values. Kruskal Wallis-H test, Shapiro Wilk's', Post-Hoc test were used to identify differences between groups. Results: When the materials were compared, color changes in all solutions except distilled water (p>0,05) showed significant results (p<0,05) as of 120th day. Among all staining solutions, the highest DE value was observed with red wine. The most colored material is the G-aenial anterior composite in the red wine solution. Vita Enamic showed less coloration than Lava ultimate blocks between resin-containing blocks. Clearfil majesty esthetic showed a more resistant to coloration among traditional composites. Conclusion: As reported in different studies, the resin-containing blocks did not show any color resistance as well as the ceramic blocks. However, if we need to offer an alternative, Clearfil majesty esthetic can be used to replace the IPS E-max with Vita Enamic. Key Words: Staining, Composites, CAD / CAM blocks, Ceramic block, Color
