Abstract (EN)

Athletes' levels of rage can have an impact on their team relationships and individual results. The purpose of this research is to examine the traits of anger expression style in relation to the demographic traits of athletes in various branches located in the province of Trabzon. The general survey approach was utilized in the study's planning. 285 athletes, 123 of whom were female and 162 of whom were male, who competed in various branches throughout the province of Trabzon made up the study's sample. The researcher used a personal information form and the Trait Anger - Anger Style Scale (TAS-SAS), which was first established by Spielberger in 1988 and translated into Turkish by Özer in 1994, to measure trait anger and anger styles in the study. All athletes were given the surveys in person. Exam results revealed that students who had played sports for 5–10 years had significantly higher outward anger control scores (17.55 ± 3.51) than students who had played sports for 10 years or more (16.91 ± 3.48), 1-3 years (16.70 ± 2.95) and 3-5 years (16.01 ± 2.27), respectively. However, there was no significant difference in the sub-dimensions of trait anger, internalized anger, and anger control (p>0.05). Furthermore, no statistically significant variation was seen based on other characteristics such as gender, age, sport branch, degree of sportsmanship, and economic level. Because of this, it was discovered that athletes with more years in sport had higher levels of fury when competing. Athletes frequently exhibit more drive and desire as their playing time increases. This drive and aspiration may be reflected in outward rage. The lack of significant differences seen in relation to other factors might potentially be attributed to the similarity of the study's sample group.
