Abstract (EN)

Different levels of saline irrigation water was applied to pepper, widely produced in Antalya. The objective of the study was to determine the energy usage effect in different wavelengths for the treatments. The energy usage effect in different wavelenghts were determined for these applications. This study was carried out in controlled greenhouse environment as a pot experiment. Spectroradiometric measurements were taken in 330-1075 nanometers wavelength interval. Obtained reflection values were sorted out in blue (450-500nm), green (501-570nm), red (610-700nm) and near infrared (701-1075nm) wavelenght intervals and transformed to average reflection values. Furthermore, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Red Edge (RE), Normalized Difference Salinity Index (NDSI) and Salinity Index (SI) measurements were made and the values were compared by statistical methods. Results indicated that saline irrigation water applied with different levels on pepper plant had a negative effect on energy use of the plant. Although there were important relationships between applications in the near infrared region, a meaningful relationship were not find between reflection changes through plant?s development period. It is obvious that measured NDVI, RE, NDSI and SI indexes are more decisive in detecting salinity stress.
