Accuracy analysis of reflectorless measurements in determining the positions of targets with different surfaces

Abstract (EN)
In this study, an experiment was conducted to study accuracy analysis by taking reflectorless measurements with total station tools to materials with different surfaces. To make reflectorless measurements of the targets, the active structure stock in the region and the type and colors of commonly used materials were first evaluated. In this way, in the relevant areas (civilian residential and industrial areas, historical or predominantly old buildings, etc.) field work has been carried out and appropriate materials have been identified. 18 types of materials (white painted wood, gray painted wood, yellow painted wood, red painted wood, blue painted wood, smooth wood, rough wood, brown plastic, white plastic, granite, white marble, gray, marble, brick, white concrete, orange concrete, yellow painted metal, gray painted metal, metal) used. With total stations (LEICA TS16, Spectra Focus 8) with reflectorless measurement, the reference distances were first determined by taking measurements with the reflector at approximately previously determined distances (50.100.200.400m). Then, the tools were directed to the target surfaces using a previously specially designed a special supporting base, taking measurements of the reflectorless distance. Compared with the calculation of the root mean square error values between reference distance measurements using the reflector and distance measurements taken without reflectors. In the scope of the study, factors such as material type, color, surface type, paint type, angle of laser beam to target surface were observed to affect measurement values and measurements and assessments were written and visually prepared for each of these effects. External factors(temperature, pressure, humidity, angle of solar heat coming, etc.) that will also affect the measurement reviewed and recorded data throughout the measurement process. The data that was recorded was last performed linear accuracy analysis of the measurement values in the statistical program (STATA) relative to each other. At the end of the experiment, targets with different color surfaces have a significant impact on distance measurements, where the mean square error changes as incidence angle coming to the target surface changes, when the measurement distance increases (more than 200m), there are differences in the error rates of targets with different surface type, whether the target surface is painted has an effect on the measurement results and differences between distance measurements and the calculated the root mean square error for both measuring instruments have been observed.
