Abstract (EN)

Turkey is located on active earthquake zones. Many lives and property losses occur in our country after each earthquake. With the change of earthquake regulations, this loss of life and property is tried to be minimized. In the first part of the study, the current importance of civil engineering, how earthquake regulations are formed, the relationship between earthquake and ground, and the purpose and scope of the thesis are discussed. the second part contains the literature review. In the third part of the study, the computer software program called IdeCAD, which is used to model and analyze the building systems is introduced and the method to be followed in the thesis stage is mentioned. In the fourth part, the analysis settings for 2007 and 2018 Turkish earthquake regulations are discussed individually in IdeCAD. In the newest regulation, earthquake level, soil class, design spectrum, building usage class, earthquake design class, building height and building height class, building performance levels, bearing system selection, diaphragm selection, ductility level, x and y strength coefficient and how behavior coefficient choices are determined. the fifth part contains analyses of 3 and 5-storey reinforced concrete buildings using different soil and earthquake parameters. According to analyses results, the cost changes between 2007 and 2018 Earthquake Regulation is compared using graphs and tables. In the sixth part of the study, as a result of the analyzes carried out by considering soil class, soil bed coefficient, soil bearing capacity and earthquake zones, the amounts of concrete, formwork and reinforcement were calculated and cost calculations were done. Acoording to these results, the costs obtained for 2018 Earthquake Regulation are higher then those for 2007 Earthquake Regulation. The reinforcement is used more for 2018 Earthquake Regulation compared with 2007 Earthquake Regulation. The soil classes are given less importance for 2007 Earthquake Regulation. It has been observed that new Turkey Earthquake Map gives clearer results in the determination of earthquake zone. It has also been observed that the 2018 Earthquake Regulation is more comprehensive in all aspects and is more reliable.
