Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the series of 'Magic Books' by Fatih Erdoğan in the context of sensitivity education. Sensitivity refers to the individual's not being unresponsive to events or situations that occur outside his own life, and a conscious awareness of these events or situations. The society, which has been exposed to many painful events experienced today with the influence of social media and has taken these events for granted, has become increasingly insensitive. This situation has also had negative consequences for children, who are the future of society. Because a society changes and develops only as it speaks out and reacts to the negativities and injustices experienced around it. In order to build a healthier society, national and universal values should be adopted and made into behaviors by individuals. Being sensitive to people, animals, justice, health, labor, social peace, culture, nature, and many other values is one of the most basic responsibilities of human beings as a social being. The transfer of these sensitivities to children is necessary and important for a peaceful society to come into existence. One of the ways to bring sensitivity education to children is children's literature. The place of quality children's literature, which appeals to the child with its heroes and subject, makes sense of values rather than giving advice and creates sensitivity towards these values, in the education of children at an early age cannot be denied. Based on this understanding, 11 books in the "Magic Books" series written by Fatih Erdoğan for children were examined in the context of a total of 47 sensitivity subcategories with the additions and changes of the researcher, considering the sensitivity subcategories determined in previous studies. In the study, document analysis method, one of the qualitative research designs; content analysis technique was used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the research, sensitivity to family members, linguistic sensitivity, sensitivity to books and reading, sensitivity to children and childhood, sensitivity to friendship and friendship, sensitivity to human emotions, sensitivity to human relations are the most frequently covered in the 11 books in Fatih Erdoğan's "Magic Books" series; sensitivity to doing goodness, sensitivity to sharing, sensitivity to sports, sensitivity to love of life, sensitivity to self-sacrifice, sensitivity to time, sensitivity to courage, sensitivity to privacy and immunity of personal information and belongings were determined as the least common sensitivity. The statements regarding the sub-categories of sensitivity to peace, sensitivity to freedom, and sensitivity to disabled individuals, out of 47 different sensitivity subcategories, were not found in the books. As a result of the research, it has been concluded that the books in the series of "Magic Books" by Fatih Erdogan have messages that will make children sensitive to different from each other subjects, in this context, they can be used effectively in providing sensitivity education to children.
