Proposal for a new edition of Federico Mompou's Suite Compostelana

When the researcher first studied the edition of Segovia, the first source of Federico Mompou's Suite Compostelana, he came up with the idea that some transcripts in the note could be written more clearly during the deciphering. In addition, the need to reach the first source for a more in-depth study of the artwork is considered because of the change in the repeated intervals and the measures in some sections. When he reached the manuscript of the composer and compared it with the Segovia edition, he found that there also were some transmission errors. "Andres Segovia often edited the works that reflect his own interpretations. Thus, most of today's guitarists decide to compare or reject the editorial decisions of Segovia, comparing the original manuscripts or new publications based on original manuscripts with the published versions of Segovia" (Andrés Segovia, 2018). In this research, it is attempted to write a new edition of this music piece with understanding the composer's style by researching the important factors in the professional life of Mompou and also to learn the texture and form of the works of the suite compostelana. Suite Compostelana's original manuscripts were scanned in comparison with Segovia's edition, samples were taken and finally a new edition, which is compatible with techniques and interpretations of the instrument, is created and proposed.
