Abstract (EN)
The third wave of feminism, which has turned into an ideology over women's rights in the context of inequalities, has been investigated on the assumption that it resonates in the contemporary art environment as interdisciplinary art products. Within the scope of the thesis, the third wave effects in feminism have been investigated in the context of international relations feminist theories and it is aimed to provide a new understanding of the concept of feminism in art by the data obtained from the art theory and plastic values of 16 artists and their works that form the universe of research in art. In the first part of the study, the concept of feminism is emphasized in terms of historical process, and women's movements are tried to be evaluated in three waves with the metaphor of waves and within the context of feminist theories. Feminist theories have been identified as Liberal, Radical, Postmodern, Marxist, Anarchist, Postcolonial, Poststructuralist and Ecofeminism, which are the sources of feminist theory and the universal ones. In the second part, how the concept of gender affects art is tried to be reflected through feminist artists and their works. In this context, the works that have been highlighted as an expression of feminist art today have been studied as important data in thesis research. In the third part, the concept of "Femicide", which defines the killing of women as an alternative to the term "woman & murder", which is a part of the problems pointed out by feminist approaches, and the "Agenda" as a concept through artistic expression within the scope of the researcher's thesis are included with a contemporary approach. Keywords: Contemporary Art, Woman in Art, Feminist Theory, Third Wave in Feminism, Femicide
