SUMMARY Master Thesis THE TURKSIH WOMAN FROM ANGLE OF FEMINIST DISCOURSE HİLAL MUZO?LU The University of Fırat Social Sciences Institute Sociology Religion Sciences 2002, Page: 63 When the Ottoman Empire noticed the Tanzimat Command it accepted that the europe goes forward than Ottoman in the social, cultural, the political areas. For this reason, the advantages of the Europe is followed by the Ottoman and they send a lot of students to Europe to educate for all of the angles. This students, when they come back to Ottoman, they transfer to society by translating the Europe's cultural life to Ottoman Turkish. As it; at that age the equality that is repercussioned in Europe; is occupied a place in Ottoman societi that is like freedom and feminism. This ideas spreads in Ottoman society in time and the turkish woman is affected by this developments then they tell their rights. This investigation aim to examine the placement in social, political and economical life. İt is used for the turkish woman by feminism in historical age. The investigation is occured by three main sections. İn the first section the aim, the subject and the method of the investigation is examined for giving knowledge. İn the second section the social and the cultural movements are examined that are find the feminism in European world. Beside this the European modern and postmodern feminist movements are examined that what they means by concerning in historical age. VIIİn the third section; the formation of feminism Turkey and the development phases are concerned by examining the historical ages. This phase is started by Tanzimat age is put on the agenda in Turkey. At that time, the Ottoman intellectuals become a subject in their writings that the Ottoman womans must get a place in society. When we come to the age of the second constitutional monarchy the difference ideologies (conservatives, the west ideas, the Turkish ideas) tells their opinions. The common poind that they meet in is the breaking cover that is hide in for years and is focused for developing the civilization by using the education on them. İn the republic age Atatürk gives to turkish woman selection and choosing rights for showing their success in liberation war as a present. Beside this Atatürk accept the swiss civil code than he remove the more accompanient. İn the age from 1950's to middle 1970's ; the Turkish woman service heartfelt to educate and become concious. When we come to 1970's the Turkish women work in factories and in the houses for all the day like working in tireness. To rescue the Turkish women from the press he wants to work in all the places that the man work in. When we come to 1980's the feminism reaches to the top in Turkey and it express it self in a clear shape. İn this age the Turkish women rebel to the present order that crushes them under a big pressure and express this problem in different feminist pronuncation. At this time; they organized for expressing their problems together; many women association is established and they realize many feminist movements.
