Abstract (EN)
The aim of this reserch is to examine the effect of using tangible teaching material developed within the context of research on the academic success of students studying in the 8th grade science class in genetic crossover subject. Solomon Groups of Four one of the quantitative research method was used. A total of 72 students , 30 boys and 42 girls studying in the 8th grade have taken place in the study group at Istıklal Secondary School located in Erbaa province of Tokat in 2021-2022 teaching year. Participants have been randomly assigned and determined by random cluster sampling method for the study group. Genetic crossover game an electronic teaching material developed by the researcher and genetic crossover game success test again developed by the researcher have been used as data collection tools. The experimental groups and the courses have been taught with the developed teaching materials, on the other hand the control groups taught with the books of Ministry of National Education in the curriculum. Obtained data as a result of the experimental process were analyzed and tested in the SPSS (ver. 26) program. It was observed that there is no significant difference between the experimental and the control groups matched according to the Solomon Four Groups model in the study. Even though the developed electronic educational game does not enhance the academic success more than the textbooks it has been seen that it is as effective as the textbooks. It is suggested to develop electronic educational games for different courses and different aims by using the Ardunio ecosystem.
