Teacher and student opinions on the problems experienced in the teaching process of physics subjects in science coursemaster's thesis

The aim of this study is to draw attention to the problems that arise during the teaching of physics subjects in the science course by stating the opinions of teachers and students. The research includes research conducted in this field and similar areas that shed light on this field. Within the scope of the literature review, no detailed study can be found regarding the problems that arise during the teaching of physics subjects in the science course. In this context, this study aims to contribute to the literature. Although there are studies in this field, the reason for this study is that there is no general source that addresses the problems experienced during the teaching of physics subjects in general science courses. In the light of the information obtained as a result of the study, the problems encountered by teachers and students in teaching the course during physics lessons are discussed together with their opinions and occasional suggestions. According to the information obtained, the subjects of physics, including the physics course in the field of science, are difficult for students. Issues such as finding physics subjects difficult for students, having only the teacher do the experimental work, not supporting the lesson with examples from daily life, and not being able to integrate abstract concepts with concrete concepts cause students to move away from this field and lose their motivation in this field. When teachers' opinions are considered, based on the data of the group meetings at the beginning of the semester, it is seen that there are not enough in-class materials and resources. The problems experienced by students and teachers are included in the study. In this context, it is desired to draw attention to the problems in question and teachers' and students' opinions are conveyed within the scope of the study.
