Abstract (EN)
In this conducted research, it is aimed to analyse the opinions of administrators, teachers, students and parents about family participation in science course. Research group is constitued by 5 Science course teachers, 11 administrators who work in secondary schools from different socio-economic levels in a town connected to a middle sized city in the northwestern of Turkey, 385 students attending these schools and 336 parents. The data of the study was obtained by the Executive Family Participation Questionnaire, Teacher Family Participation Questionnaire, Student Family Participation Questionnaire, Parent Family Participation Questionnaire developed by the researcher in 2018-2019 Education year. These data was analyzed by scriptive method using frequency and percentages. Besides, the demands and suggestions of the administrators, Science teachers, students and parents were tried to be determined by open ended questions. In this way, reliability of the data was incereased by providing data diversification and it was aimed to support the findings with multiple data sources. Qualitative data and answer to open ended questions were analyzed descriptively. The data of the study shows that administrators and Science course teachers think parents are generally inadequate in family participation in Science course and they need parental education for Science course. In addition, it is found out that there are some differences among the opinions of school stakeholders about education and there are some lacks of communication and cooperation among these stakeholders.
