Özet (EN)
One of the aims of the study is to explore the effects of alternative assessment strategies upon academical achievements and anxieties of pre-service teachers and the determination of the attitudes of 6th grade Science and Technology students. In addition the study dwells upon the effect of alternative assessment strategies of the perceptions of primary school 6th grade Science and Technology teachers. In the first part of the study, ?pre-test, post-test, control group half-practical design? that were in half- practical design content, have been used in order to measure the effects of alternative assessment strategies on academical achievements and anxieties of Science And Technology pre- service teachers in General Chemistry Laboratory 2 class. The universe of the first part of the study consisted of 78 randomly selected students from the first year students of Science Education Department of Gazi Education Faculty of the Gazi University. The experimental and the control groups were consisted of 40 and 38 students. The universe of the second part of the study consisted of 672 randomly selected 6th grade Primary school students studying in 17 different primary schools located in two different towns (namely Yenimahalle and Çankaya) of Ankara province. v The sample of the third part of the study contained thirty primary school 6th grade Science and Technology teachers from 17 primary schools in Yenimahalle and Çankaya towns of Ankara. Statistical data obtained from the study revealed that there is a meaningful difference between the academic achievements of those pre-service teachers in experimental group where alternative assessment strategies were employed and those pre-service teachers in control group where traditional assessment strategies were used before and after the procedure. Apart from that there were meaningful differences observed between pre and post procedure anxieties of the pre service teachers in the experimental and control groups. It can be concluded that the application of alternative assessment strategies in 6th grade science and technology educational program were appreciated positively by both the teachers and the students.
